Note the grill made out of planter pots. Looks very similar to the "egg" grills that are showing up recently.

This month, in 1991, as a young man I entered my first store, in Largo Florida, and started my first official day as one of the proud owners of M&C Assemblies.

Twenty years! It doesn't seem that long ago. Back then, it was just my friend and partner, my brother and me. Since then, we have grown so much and today we offer our high quality brand of assembly service throughout the state of Florida. We have far surpassed the small team of my friend, my brother and me.

During our last 20 years, my friend and partner left the company to follow his electronic engineering background. My brother Claude, who many of you may still remember, know or now his friends, went on to become M&C’s VP and later followed his religious path and has turn out to be an outstanding youth pastor in NC.

We have outgrown the accommodations for a small home office and had to eventually secure a central office and warehouse location in Oldsmar. We have many teams of outstanding assembly techs all over Florida and  have an experienced and well trained management team.

I humbly THANK each and every one of you…our customers, our assembly techs, office and managers alike…past and present. Thank you ALL. It is an honor and privilege to have the ability to offer you our services and supply jobs and opportunities in our communities.

Here's to the next 20!

Is assembly identification annoying? (The sticker system). Probably a little.

Some of the newer guys might not know but I was a tech myself – I built for 15 years, so I know the goal is to get in, get the job done right, and get out.

So why do we do it? The first reason is accountability, often there is more than one tech building in a store.  The stickers identify who did the work and when. You certainly wouldn’t want someone else to get the credit for your work, and worse yet; as an independent contractor, you wouldn’t want the liability for someone’s inferior work.

There are other reasons that have to do with inventory control, training, and reporting but the one that affects the tech obviously is the accountability and positive acknowledgments.

I do appreciate the feedback and if you have an idea to accomplish the end result that would be easier as a tech to manage, you are welcome to comment or even call me direct. Everyone that has access to a build binder also has my direct number.
